On 1 September 2008 Horwich Moor and St John’s Methodist Churches formed a close partnership and together our two churches are now known as The Methodist Church in Horwich.
The two churches are very different in size and in their setting. St John’s is a large suburban church located in Horwich, a small town, 6 miles from the centre of Bolton, in Lancashire. Horwich Moor, a smaller church serves a semi-rural community on the hill overlooking the town. Both churches are committed to working much more closely together, even though the two congregations will continue to worship separately. We believe that by developing stronger relationships, and sharing our gifts and resources we can more effectively reach out to the local community with the love of God, in Jesus Christ.
