trip to 'The Bourne Poacher' in July 2008 Turned out to be one of the better days of the Summer. It was a great day and good value with a three course meal, afternoon tea, entertainment, dancing and transport all for £12 |

| Our Tenth Year Birthday
Party was held on 19th June 2008 and was
a resounding sucess. Eileen (the Cook) organised and led the team of helpers who between them prepared a wonderful buffet meal for all to enjoy. |

| Entertainment was provided by
Graham Smith on the guitar, followed by the
'Puppeteers'. It was good to see so many of the original volunteers attending, particularly those from the 'Inner Wheel', who were a big help in the early days of the Luncheon Club. |

Roger
Stubbins (St John's Minister in 1988) and Sylvia
Jones (Age Concern), who were involved in the
starting up of the club, also attended. Other guests were visitors from America, the Rev Bill and Ellie Miller. |

| Age Concern presented 'Long Service Awards' to 14 of our volunteers. Seven for 10 years service and a further Seven for 5 years service. Following the party a letter was received, from Age concern, expressing a special thank you to all our volunteers for their dedicaton and help. | |||
